David Lee Robinson, 55, of Granger, Missouri, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born March 26, 1954, at Kirksville, Missouri to Lester Wayne and Patricia Maxine (Biggs) Robinson Shelley.
He graduated from Scotland County R-1 School, Class of 1972.
He was employed by Shannan’s Pallet Mill in Granger, Missouri. David enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a long time member of District 14 ABATE of Iowa.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Shelley of Memphis, Missouri; a son, Jeremy Robinson, of Granger, Missouri; a sister, Linda Shannan and her husband, Tom, of Granger, Missouri; three brothers: Larry Robinson and his friend, Janice Dove, of Centerville, Iowa; Leroy Robinson and his wife, Margie, of Storm Lake, Iowa; Roger Robinson and his wife, Pattie, of Memphis, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Garland Jr. Shelley and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 1 P.M. at Memphis Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Hammack officiating. Burial of cremains will follow the service in Prairie View Cemetery in rural Scotland County. Honorary bearers will be Stanley Barker, Brandon Duncan, Steve Girardin, Aaron Burr, Tim Branch, Randy Thomas, Noel Barker, Dick Templeton and Jordan Wilson.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to David’s son, Jeremy, and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
