Dora Elizabeth Hulet, 85, of Gorin, Missouri, passed away October 23, 2009 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. She was born April 23, 1924 at Burlington, Iowa to Wendell Guy and Jewel Gladys Mutter McIntire. She graduated from Media-Wever High School in Illinois. She was a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church in Stronghurst, Illinois. She married Doren K. “Tuck” Hulet, February 3, 1941 at Fort Madison, Iowa. To this union seven children were born. Dora was a housewife and enjoyed sewing, crocheting gardening and cooking. She is survived by three daughters: Patsy A. Moore and her husband, Everett, of Macomb, Illinois; Bonnie J. Taylor and her husband, Jim, of Blandinsville, Illinois; Peggy J. Clark and her husband, Danny, of Kirksville, Missouri and four sons: Doren K. Hulet and his wife, Rosemary, of Hartford, Iowa; Richard D. Hulet and his wife, Joan, of Port Charlotte, Florida; Paul Allan Hulet and his wife, Martha, of Kirksville, Missouri and Michael K. Hulet and Tammi, of Wapello, Iowa. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren: Dawn Hulet of Charlotte, North Carolina; David Hulet and his wife, Christy, of West Des Moines, Iowa; Danielle Hulet of Des Moines, Iowa; Kris Gronewold of Macomb, Illinois; Lonnie Haines of New Mexico; Sherri Broadhead and her husband, Jeff, of Tennessee, Illinois; Margaret Clark-Haldeborg and her husband, Henric, of Lakewood, Ohio; Melissa Clark of Columbia, Missouri; Daniel Clark of Lawrence, Kansas; Jonathan Clark of Kirksville, Missouri; Ashley K. Hulet of Kirksville, Missouri; Matthew Joseph Hulet of Kirksville, Missouri; Kevin Michael Hulet of Wapello, Iowa; three step-grandchildren: Jesse Taylor and his wife, Suzie, of Blandinsville. Illinois; Carol Bell and her husband, Bill, of Blandinsville, Illinois; Kelsi Gerels of Wapello, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren: Brandon James and his wife, Mandy; Schyler James, Lance Haines, Levi Haines, Breanna Haines, Laci Gronewold, Landon Gronewold; Madeleine Victoria Clark-Haldeborg and five step great-grandchildren: Heather Thrapp and her husband, Jared; Joshua Bell, Katelyn Bell, Kenny Shotten and Nathan Shotten. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will open at 11 AM on Sunday, October 25, with the family present to greet relatives and friends from 2 until 4 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, October 26, at the Memphis Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Music will be provided by Ann Luther and Joe Fulk. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery in Carman, Illinois at 1 PM. Casket bearers will be Neil Howard, Brandon James, Daniel Clark, Jonathan Clark, Denis Clatt, Rodger Holton, Paul Tague, and Kenny McNamar. Honorary bearers will be Margaret Adams, Louise Fitzgerald, Erma High, Georgia Erickson, Lisa Altum and Ann Bourn. Memorials may be made to the Gorin Fire Department and may be mailed to or left at Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
