Phillip M. Harbur, 70, of Memphis, Missouri died Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital at Memphis, Missouri. He was born in Memphis, Missouri on August 24, 1938 to Ellis Emmerson and Bessie Ona Akins Harbur. Phil was a graduate of Memphis High School, Class of 1956. Phil attended the Community Church in Baring, Missouri. He married Shirley Ann Hayward on January 16, 1988. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, spending two years at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Phil worked for Harris Motor Company for 40 years. He was a paint and body man and enjoyed restoration and detailing of autos. Phil was one of the founders of the Antique Fair Association and worked with the association for almost twenty years. He was a member of the Memphis American Legion Post #219, the Baring Country Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also called upon to unlock autos for people.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Memphis; a brother, Otho Emmerson Harbur and wife Dorva of Memphis,two nieces: Dora Monroe and her husband, Roy, and Cindy Bradley and her husband, Steve. Also surviving are three great-nephews and one great-niece, several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Barbara L. Goodwin and Beverly Jean Heubner.
