Ona Angeline Rudd, 91, of Bloomfield, Iowa, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Long Term Care Unit of Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.
She was born July 19, 1917 at Blakesburg, Iowa to John and Ethel Drake Herteen.
She graduated from Blakesburg High School, Class of 1936. Angeline married Loris Lloyd "Bill" Rudd at Ottumwa, Iowa on October 17, 1937 and to this union thirteen children were born.
She was a member of the Hickory Grove Community Church. She was a homemaker, a 4-H leader and taught piano. Angeline was also a member of the Merry Mixers.
Angeline is survived by her children: Harlan Rudd and his wife, Karen, Drakesville, Iowa; Harold Rudd and his wife, Verna, Drakesville, Iowa; Danny Rudd and his wife, Patricia, Ely, Iowa; Gerald Rudd and his wife, Marcia, Drakesville, Iowa; Derald Rudd and his wife, Linda, Summerfield, Florida; Caherine Jackson and her husband, Stephen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; June Robinson, Eldon, Iowa; Connie Peck and her husband, Robert, Ottumwa, Iowa; Larry Rudd and his wife, Shirley, Drakesville, Iowa and Gary Rudd and his wife, Sheila, Bloomfield, Iowa. Other survivors include a brother, Dean Herteen, Blakesburg, Iowa; a sister, Christina Chrisman, Blakesburg, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Areta Rudd, Roseville, California and Irene Herteen, Blakesburg, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Max Chrisman, Blakesburg, Iowa and a daughter-in-law, Donna Rudd, Shellsburg, Iowa. Also surviving are twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons: Orval Dean Rudd and Richard Eugene Rudd; a daughter, Mary Rosalind Rudd; three graandchildren; two great granddaughters and a sister, Caroline Herteen, in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M. on Monday, August 11, 2008 at Hickory Grove Community Church south of Ottumwa, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Hickory Grove Community Church with Pastor Byron Newland and Pastor Jeffrey Hendred officiating. Music will be provided by Marthana Newland and Judy Matheney. Burial will follow in the North Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Rudd, James Rudd, Jeremy Rudd, Joe Rudd, Cody Peck, Stephan Rudd, Fred Rudd, Seth Jackson, Nathan Rudd and Spencer Jackson. Honorary bearers will be Ryan Rudd, Craig Rudd, Kenny Lasley, Greg Svoboda, Jeff Svoboda, Ethan Rudd, Christopher Rudd and Matthew Rudd.
Memorials may be given to the Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Activity Fund or the North Wesley Chapel Cemetery and may be left at the church or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
