James E. Branch, 82 of Gorin, Missouri was born January 20, 1925 at Fort Madison, Iowa to Frank Blake and Jenny Lenore Curl Branch. He married Lois T. Thomas. To this union three sons were born. Jim was an electrical engineer and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Sterling - Rock Falls, Illinois.

Jim served in the US Army during WW II from July 1943 to December 15, 1945. He was a member of ther 415th Infantry Regiment. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. After an extended illness Jim died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife Lois of Gorin, son Sean Timothy Branch of Gorin, grand children and step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Harvey of Luray, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons; James David and Glynn Franke Branch.

A Celebration of Life will be held Memorail Day weekend 2008, exact day and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to "Make a Wish Foundation" or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Memorials may be sent to the Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
