Corky Forquer, 64, of Gorin, Missouri died Friday, September 28, 2007 as the result of injuries received in a house fire. He was born in Wyaconda, Clark County, Missouri on February 21, 1943 to Walter Eugene and Juanita Lucille Murphy Forquer. He was a graduate of the LaHarpe High School in LaHarpe, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army enlisting, October 26, 1966 and was discharged June 13, 1970. He was a combat medic during the Vietnam War and a member of the Burlington V.F.W.. He married DeeAnn Leon Dickenson at Burlington, Iowa on September 22, 2000. Corky was a route salesman for the Anderson Magazine Distributors in Monmouth, Illinois. He retired in 2005 and moved to Gorin, Missouri. Survivors include his wife of Gorin, Missouri; a daughter, Cheryl Capps of Burlington, Iowa and a son, Adam Forquer of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; four brothers; Jim Forquer of Canton, Missouri, Gary Forquer of Blandinsville, Illinois, Terry Forquer and Henry Forquer of New London, Iowa and a sister, Nedra Cassady of Oxford, Mississippi and his parents-in-law, Beverly and Douglas Dickenson of Burlington, Iowa; a step-son, Patrick Robinson of Burlington, Iowa and a step-daughter Megan Lemon of Burlington, Iowa and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son.
