Stuart Miller McDermott, 82 of Tempe, Arizona died Wednesday, September 19, 2007. He was born July 2, 1925 at Kansas City, Missouri. He completed one year of junior college at Jefferson City, Missouri. Stuart was a meteorologist at the U.S. Weather Bureau in Washington, DC and resided in Maryland. He retired in 1991 and moved to Arizona. Even after retirement Stuart continued to have an interest in the weather. Stuart was a very sweet and gentle man and very religious. Surviving are a sister, Marianne McDermott of Falls Church, Virginia and a brother William McDermott of Chico, California; four half-brothers; Marc McDermott, Michael McDermott, David McDermott, Brain McDermott and a half-sister, Jeanette McDermott. Also surviving are three first-cousins; Joan Kinney Leslie, Barbara Kinney Burneson and Frances Kinney Culver. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert Alan McDermott.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2007 in the Memphis Cemetery with Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial will follow next to his mother.
