Marilyn Elma Cunningham, 77, of Memphis, Missouri died Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center at Kirksville, Missouri. She was born June 29, 1930 in rural Davis County, Iowa to Frank and Alice Campbell Cortum. She graduated from Pulaski High School, Pulaski, Iowa, Class of 1948, She married Clarence Ray "Sug" Cunningham on November 19, 1949 at Bloomfield, Iowa. He died November 19, 2002. Marilyn was a homemaker, a member of Memphis Calorie Counters and affiliated with the Methodist Church. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, traveling with her husband and especially enjoyed her family and family gatherings.

She is survived by her children; Monica Cunningham of Arbela, Missouri, Alan Cunningham of Memphis, Missouri, Marjorie Durham of Arbela, Missouri and Gary Cunningham of Memphis, Missouri. Eleven grandchilren survive; James Cunningham, Alta Koser, Rae Ann Murray, Cyrena Durham, Shane Durham, Travis Durham, Alica Bales, Janessa Matheny, Donica Darland, Dewayne Durham, and Terence Durham, twenty great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are twin sister; Marian Claman of Cantril, Iowa and sister Helen Hamberg of Williamsburg, Iowa. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Leland Cortum, two sisters Leona Claman and Catherine Songer, and a brother-in-law, Robert Cunningham.

A memorial has been established to the A.L.S. or the Victory Junction Camp.
