Howard Dale Parrish, 80, of Memphis, Missouri died Friday, May 11, 2007 at his home.
He was born January 6, 1927 to Joseph Clark Parrish and Ada Myrtle Kiesow Parrish at Knox County Missouri. He was raised and educated near Baring, Missouri. Howard servied his country during World War II from 1945 to 1949 in the U.S. Army. He married Julia Elaine Eckles on August 1, 1952 at Memphis, Missouri. To this union six children were born.
Howard was a general carpenter most of his life and retired in 2002. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the Wallace W. Gillespie Memorial Post 4958 V.F.W. of Memphis. He also enjoyed listening to country western music. |
Survivors include his long time companion of 21 years, Helen Baker and 6 children: Gary Lynn Parrish and wife Tena of Memphis, Missouri; Robert Dale Parrish and wife, Jeanne of Memphis, Missouri; Deborah Walker and husband Charles of Edenburg, Illinois; Becky Peterson and husband, Rex of Memphis, Missouri; Kim Parrish of Memphis, Missouri and two stepsons; James Dale Baker and wife, Linda and Floyd C. Baker all of Memphis, Missouri. Five sisters survive: Mary Alice Funk and husband Glen of Hurdland, Missouri; Shirley Richard and husband, Darrel of Kirksville, Missouri; Dorothy Parrish of Edina, Missouri; Marilyn Fisher and husband John of Minnesota and Carolyn M. Parrish of Edina, Missouri.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Barbara L. Clatt; two brothers Donald R. Parrish and Joseph Wayne Parrish and a grandson Chris Parrish. |
