Rebecca A. McMinn, 60, of Independence, Missouri died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri, following a brief illness. She was born November 21, 1946, at Kirksville, Missouri to Kenneth Guy and Opal Hildred Aeschliman Gardine. Becky was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1964. She attended Kirksville State Teachers College, Kirksville, Missouri for three years. She became an operating room technician at Bettendorf, Iowa. Later she became a phlebotomist and worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Ralph McMinn and to this union one son, Ken, was born. Becky was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church. She currently worked for McAnany Construction as a roller operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 101, Kansas City, Missouri.
Becky especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing in Florida.
Survivors include her son, Ken McMinn and wife, Jennifer, of Memphis, MIssouri; her father Guy Gardine, of Memphis, Missouri; a brother, David Gardine of Gladstone, Missouri; two sisters, Jo Beth Harvey and husband Darrell, of Memphis, Missouri, Betsy Lynn Gundy of Montrose, Iowa and two granddaughters; Kaitlyn and Haylee McMinn of Memphis, Missouri. She is also survived by the following nieces and nephews; Melissa Hamm and husband, Rob, of Edina, Missouri, Trisha Harvey and Mikel Harvey of Memphis, Missouri, Levi Gundy of Okinawa, Japan and several cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother. |
