Fayetta M. Huffman, 71, of Memphis, Missouri died November 8, 2006 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was born March 31, 1935 in Tulare, California to Mitchell Eugene Powell and Wilma Edith Lamoureux. She attended school at Tulare, California and Edina, Missouri. She also attended Drumright Vocational Technology School in Oklahoma after which she attained her LPN license for practical nursing in November of 1982. She married Walter Wm. Ahland, Jr., in August of 1950 at Baring, Missouri and to this union four children were born. Faye was a member of the First Baptist church. She was very fond of her dog, Ginger and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She especially enjoyed Vicki’s kids coming to her home where she kept a special shelf for toys and a candy bowl. She took great pride in her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She is survived by two sons, Walt Ahland III and his wife, Anne, of Mesa, Arizona; David “Mike” Ahland and his wife, Vicki, of Memphis; two daughters, Linda Marlowe and her husband, Walt, of Memphis; Patty Ahland of Memphis; seven grandchildren: Autumn Ahland, Allicia Parke, Kayla Ahland, Jeremiah Marlowe, Joshua Marlowe, Pamela Robertson and Michael Robertson. Other survivors include two sisters; Louise Allen and her husband, Donald, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mary Frances Owsley of Quincy, Illinois; a special sister-in-law, Irene Powell of Palmyra, Missouri and nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Johnnie Powell and a grandson, Jonathan Marlowe. Funeral services will be at 3 P.M. on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the Memphis Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Hite officiating. Pianist will be Arleta Dye. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Honorary bearers will be Allicia Parke, Kayla Ahland, Autumn Ahland, Jeremiah Marlowe, Joshua Marlowe, Michael Robertson and Pamela Robertson. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to the Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
