Opal Hildred Gardine, 81 died in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri. She was born May 16, 1925, in Lancaster, Missouri to Eugene and Alta Effie Whitacre Aeschliman. She grew up in the Lancaster area and graduated from Lancaster High School. She married Guy Gardine on April 14, 1945, at the Christian Church by the Reverand Jolly in Kirksville, Missouri and to this union four children were born. She and her husband were the owners and operators of the Gardine Drug Store in Lancaster, Missouri until 1964 at whcih time they moved to Memphis, Missouri where they owned and operated the Gardine Drug Store. She retired in 1998. Hildred was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis where she served as a Sunday School teacher and served as chairman for funeral meals for many years. She was also a member of the International ChapterPEO Chaper C of Memphis and the Order of the Eastern Star, Kahoka Chapter #40 Wayland, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Guy, of Memphis; a son, David Gardine, of Gladstone, Missouri; three daughters; Rebecca Ann McMinn of Independence, Missouri; Jo Beth Harvey and her husband, Darrell, of Memphis, Missouri and Betsy Lynn Gundy of Montrose, Iowa. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be given to First Christian Church or the donor's choice. They may be mailed to the Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri.
