Jess L. Rockhold 84 died May 9, 2006 in the Scotland County Care Center at Memphis, Missouri. He was born December 20, 1921 at Arbela, Missouri to Dee and Ruby Flick Rockhold.
He graduated from Scotland County High School with the Class of 1941 and servied in the U.S. Army during World War II with tours of duty in Africia and Italy.
He married Mary Fetters on November 28, 1945 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Memphis, Missouri and was ordained as a permanent Deacon. He ws also a member of the Wallace W. Gillespie Post 4958 VFW in Memphis. He was a retired postmaster.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard which was his pride and joy. |
He is survived by his wife, Mary of Memphis, two daughters, Patricia S. Hyde and her husband Jerry, of Memphis, Missouri, Penny Jones and her husband, John, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and five grandchildren. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren, a brother Bob Rockhold and wife Renate of Kirksville, Missouri and a sister Opal Criner and husband Bill of Livermore, California. |
